So, that all said here is my card that uses Hello Ladybug stamp set and punch.  I think this set is adorable and can be used for lots of different card giving occasions.

My project also uses the Fold Back Pop-Up Card that was a tutorial on Split Coast Stampers a few weeks ago.  Here is the link to the very well done video by Robyn Rasset.  This is quickly becoming one of my favorite fancy folds.  You can see another card I made in January for the NC Demos Stamp-A-Long using the Sale-A-Bration  Friendly Hello Bundle at the bottom of this post.

If you would like to recreate this card here are the measurements:

• Poppy Parade 8 1/2 x 5 ½. Score at 4 ¼ and 2 1/8
• 2 Basic Black 1 3/4  x  1 3/4  and 2 3/4 x 2 3/4
• 2 each Basic White 1 5/8 x 1 5/8
• 2 5/8 x 2 5/8
• 2 each Pattern Party DSP  5  1/4 x 1 7/8, these can be the same or coordinating.
• 2 each Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper:  2 x 2, these should coordinate, but NOT be the same of your 5 ¼ x 1 7/8 pieces.

My suggestion for making this kind card is to cut all you cardstock and DSP then attach the DSP to your card base.  I used Multipurpose Glue for this.

Next, stamp and punch the your images.  Then it is time to put your card together.  I did use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the stamped pieces and my ladybug.  I did use Tear & Tape to attach the lady bug to the pop up mechanism.

Summer is my favorite time of year.  I love to be outside working in the yard planting and taking care of my flowers and herbs.  When I am not running around like a crazy person, which is too much of the time, I enjoy long afternoons and evenings visiting with family and friends by the pool with yummy food and cool beverages.  The cards I am sharing make me think of these things. Both cards were originally created for my Terrific Techies, but my team, the Stamp Pad Society, liked them so much we made them as part of our monthly team meeting yesterday, too!

This first card makes me think of all the pretty flowers blooming around my yard right now.  I will admit I did case it a bit from a fellow demo.  She used watercolor pencils, but as my June Techies was ALL about the amazing new Soft Pastel Assortment I used them along with a Blender Pen.  This really isn’t a hard card to make.  It is just a little time consuming because of the coloring. Let me share the measurements for this card then I will give you the scoop on making it. =-)

• Bumble Bee cardbase 4 1/4 x 11 inches and scored at 5 1/2
• Crumb Cake 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
• Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim 11 inches.  This AWESOME trim is retiring on the 30th of June, so you need to get yours while it is still available!

Now that we have that our of the way here is how I created this card.

First, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the daisies from Daisy Garden in StazOn ink onto the Crumb Cake cardstock.  I intentionally cut my cardstock a little bigger than needed so I had a place to put my magnet to hold down my cardstock.  So, after I stamped my daisies I trimmed the cardstock down to 4 x 5 1/4.

Next, I was off to my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and used the rectangles from the Picture This Dies and cut our the three rectangles from my Crumb Cake cardstock.  While I was at my counter, I ran the 4 x 5 1/4 piece through my machine using the new Bark 3D Embossing Folder and attached it to my Bumble Bee cardbase using Multipurpose Glue.

My next step was to color in the flowers on my rectangles.  I lifted the color from my pastels using a Blender Pen.  If you try this at home make sure you do not over work your cardstock while coloring.  The cardstock will peel.

After coloring my flowers I added them to my card using Dimensionals.

I finished off my card by stamping, punching and adding my twine and hello tag.  I really love using the Biggest Wish stamp set and Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch together!

My second project is SO much fun!  It reminds me of being by the pool at night with all the with all the pretty lights and the bubbles bubbles in the spa.  I choose to use Circle Celebration as it a favorite of mine from the January to June Mini.  It will be retiring on the 30 of this month and I am so sad to see it go.

Here are the measurements for this card:

• Granny Apple Green cardbase 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4
• Basic White 4 x 5 1/4
• Metallic Mesh Ribbon 4 inches
• A scrap of Granny Apple Green for your HELLO tag

All of the ink for this card is VersaMark.  The color all comes from the Pastels! There are a couple of tips I will share with you about using the Pastels with VersaMark.  First, make sure your VersaMark pad is VERY inky.  Work in small areas.  Meaning stamp one to three images at a time then use the pastels to color them.  This will let you see which images you are coloring and ensure the VersaMark isn’t dry before you apply the pastels. My final advice is to choose pastel colors that will blend together nicely.  You don’t want to make an unfortunate shade of brown or green.

Okay, now that I have shared ALL of that it is time to stamp!  First, I stamped the largest of my circles three times and then scribbled on them with the Night of Navy pastel.  I didn’t worry about completely cover the circle.  I will tell you why in a second.

Next, I stamped each of the remaining circles from the largest to the smallest and scribbled on the Rich Razzleberry, Granny Apple Green and finally the Coastal Cabana pastels

The next stamp is my favorite!  Take a cotton ball and gently blend the pastels together.  If you think you have too much empty space you can stamp in VersaMark and add more color.

Since I was stamping anyway, I stamped my HELLO in VersaMark and used the Night of Navy pastel to color it.

Now it was back to die cutting.  I once again used the Picture This Dies.  I then attached my 4 x 5 1/4 inch stamped cardstock to my Granny Apple Green base, then attached my circles using a combination of Dimensionals and Mini Dimesionals.

My final step was to add my HELLO.  I think this will be a great card to send to anyone!  It is so cheerful!

The cards I am sharing aren’t fancy, but do share how I used the Circle Punches for two of my Cute Cards Quick Kits during my Scrappy Stampers’ Getaway this past weekend at Carolina Beach.  These are some of my favorites.  I love circle punches and will be so sad to see them retire May 3rd.

This first card originally came from one of our Mystery Card Parties and features Faux Silk, one of my favorite techniques.  Here are all the details!

Comfort & Hope Card

Supplies:

• Comfort & Hope stamp set
• Inks Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green. Night of Navy Cardstock:
• 1 1/4, 2 & 2 1/4 inch Punches
• Tissue paper. Cut this into a 6×6 inch pieces

Cardstock

• Night of Navy 5 ½ x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 ¼
• 2 Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 & 2 1/4 x 9
• Granny Apple Green 2 1/2 x  2 1/2
• Balmy Blue 2 x 2
• Night of Navy Twine 5 inches

1. Stamp the zig zag image in Night of Navy on tissue paper.
2. Next stamp the circle image in Balmy Blue on the tissue paper and also onto your scrap of Basic White cardstock. Don’t forget to stamp it onto the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White piece for the inside of your card.
3. Stamp the leaf in Granny Apple Green onto the tissue paper and onto the scrap of Basic White cardstock. Stamp it onto the Basic White piece for the inside of your card.
4. Stamp the dots in Balmy Blue and Night of Navy onto the tissue paper. Stamp the dots in Night of Navy onto the scrap of Basic White cardstock and onto the Basic White piece for the inside of your card.
5. Stamp your greeting onto the Balmy Blue cardstock in Night of Navy.
6. Crinkle/smoosh the tissue paper into a ball. Then unfold it and smooth out and set aside.
7. Apply Multipurpose Glue over the entire piece of 4 x 5 1/4 cardstock and then gently put the tissue paper onto the cardstock. Press it down, but do not smooth it out. You want the crinkles.  Set aside to dry.
8. While your Faux Silk piece is drying, punch out your circle images, your greetings and the Granny Apple Green pieces.
9. Attach the Night of Navy twine to the back of the Basic White circle then attach the Basic White Circle to the Granny Apple Green circle with Dimensionals.
10. Attach the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White piece in the inside of the Night of Navy cardbase.
11. Once the glue is dry on your Faux Silk piece fold the excess tissue paper around and behind the white cardstock using your favorite adhesive and then attach it to the Night of Navy cardbase.
12. Attach your greeting and leaf circle to the Faux Suede piece with your favorite adhesive. I used Multipurpose Glue.

My second card was inspired by one I saw on Pinerest and cased.  I love the bright colors and the Circle Celebration stamp set is one I really have enjoyed from the January to June Mini Catalog.   Here are all the details for this fun and cheery card:

Circle Celebration Card

Supplies:

• Circle Celebration & Peaceful Moments stamp sets
• 1 1/4 & 1 1/2 inch Circle Punchs
• Ink pads: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green & Melon Mambo
• Piercing Mat
• Mini & Standard Dimensionals, Multipurpose Glue & Tear & Tape

Cardstock:

•  Melon Mambo,  5 ½ x 8 ½ and scored at 4 ¼
• Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 & a scrap for the punched circles
• Granny Apple Green 2 x 2
• Metallic Mesh Ribbon 4 inches

1. Stamp the large solid circle in Daffodil Delight.
2. Next stamp the circle with the ring of flowers in Bermuda Bay.
3. Stamp the small starburst in Granny Apple Green.
4. Stamp the smallest flower in Melon Mambo.
5. Stamp the little dots in Daffodil Delight.
6. Now on the stamp following on your 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Basic White cardstock: the open flower and the wavey circle in Melon Mambo. Then stamp the open flower in Bermuda Bay. Finally, stamp the polka dot circle in Granny Apple Green.
7. Stamp your greeting in Bermuda Bay on the Granny Apple Green cardstock.
8. Punch out all 5 circles with the 1 1/2 or 1 1/4 inch the circle punches.
9. Attach the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Basic White to your cardbase. I used Multipurpose Glue.
10. Attach the Metallic Mesh Ribbon with Tear & Tape or another strong adhesive.
11. Finish your card by attaching your punched circles with a mix of Mini Dimensionals and Dimensionals.

I am sharing a very special card that I created for our friend, Taba-san.  My husband, Jay, met him almost 24 years ago when he took a group of CAP cadets on the International Cadet Exchange Program (IACE).  Since that time we or just Jay have either visiting Japan to see Taba or he has come to the States every year.  That was until COVID.  It has now been It has now been more than two years since we have seen him which makes all of us very sad.

Anyway, Taba loves all things airplane and American.  So, when Jay asked me to make him a card for his birthday which was last week, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

As you may or may not know, I am now addicted to Easel Cards again thanks to my friend and fellow NC Demo, Toni.  So, that is where I started with Taba’s card.  The dimensions are as follows:

• Basic White Thick 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4. Use your Bone Folder to make sure your folds are crisp!
• Basic Black 4 x 5 1/4
• Basic White 3 3/4 x 5 and 2 x 5 1/2

Once I decided to make an Easel Card I knew I wanted to use the Soar Confidently stamp set, but had to think about how to create the sky around my airplane.  After perusing my stamp sets I settled on the Waterfront stamp set (a retiring favorite) to create my water, sand and sky.

I started by stamping the airplane twice using my Stamparatus.  Once on my Whisper White cardstock and once on a piece of copy paper.  Both in Memento Black Ink.  I then fussy cut the airplane that I stamped on the copy paper.

Next, I used my 1 1/2 inch Circle Punch (another retiring favorite) and punch out a circle from a sticky note.  I placed the negative of the sticky note onto my cardstock then used Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody with a Blending Brush to create my sun.  I then removed the negative of the sticky note and replaced it with the circle I had punched. I also added a little washi tape to the back of the airplane I cut out and placed it over my stamped airplane on the Basic White Cardstock.

Now the real stamping began! I used a combinations of the stamps from Waterfront along with Pool Party ink to stamp the water on both pieces of Basic White Cardstock, Next was the sand in Crumb Cake and finally the sky in Balmy Blue.

I then added a good amount of Wink of Stella here and there for texture and shine to my water and sky.  Okay, it was more than a little and I had to let it dry for a few minutes. LOL

While the Wink of Stella dried I created my Happy Birthday tag with the stamp from Enjoy the Moment, Memento Black ink and the Label Me Fancy and added the Braided Linen Twine for a little texture.

It was finally time to assemble my card.  I started by attaching my scene to the layer of Basic Black with Dimensionals and then added the corners from Antique Corners & Slides with Glue Dots.  I attached this layer to my Basic White cardbase using Multipurpose Glue.  Remember to only put glue on the bottom half!

I attached the 2 x 5 1/2 inch “water piece with Foam Strips.  This is what keeps you easel in place.  Finally, I added my Happy Birthday tag.

• 2 Pieces of DSP 2 x 5 1/4
• Cardstock to for 2 circles 1 1/2 inches
• Cardstock to create your focal point and the “stopper” tag for your greeting

You will want want to use Multipurpose Glue or an adhesive that you can reposition for everything on these cards EXCEPT the ice cream cone, the party hat and the “stopper” tags.  You should use Dimensionals for those.

So, get ready to add some get up and go to  your projects!!

I wanted to share two cards that I made in the last month for two very special ladies who are dear friends and a big part of my team, the Stamp Pad Society.

The first card is for my friend, downline and neighbor of almost four years, Allison for her 50th birthday.  I met Allison after locking myself out of our house on the fifth day we lived here.  Did I mention it was 8:30am in the morning, I was in a robe, no shoes, no cell phone and Jay was at the office?  She was so cool.  I introduced myself, she introduced herself and asked if we had gotten moved in and then what she could do to help me.  If was as if it was normal for some crazy lady to show up unannounced and need a phone.  If you ever meet Allison don’t ask for her version of this story!  It just gets crazier with ever telling! We became great friends after that an now we have really gotten to know each other well over the last year.  There were many days that we didn’t see anyone except each other.  We joke that we are quarantine buddies and I know our friendship, crafting together has helped us not drive our husbands crazy!

Anyway, I share all of this so you know that I wanted to make a very special card for Allison’s big biday.  She loves birds and loves paper crafting that is a bit over the top.  So, I had to do something she didn’t know how to do!  So, a shaker card featuring the birds from the Free as a Bird stamp set and using bird seed seemed to be a perfect place to start! I also wanted this to be something she could enjoy for more that just her birthday, so the Coastal Cabana piece is flat with the with Calypso Coral card attached and the whole thing will eventually go into a 5 x 7 picture frame I gave Allison with her card.

So, it is a big joke with my team that while I love to stamp and punch, I am not a big fan of coloring, die cutting or anything that takes patience.  So, everyone should know how special it is that I not only die cut to make my shaker window, I also colored all the birds using the Blends markers.  I have to say I did enjoy it a little, but don’t tell Allison!  I created the sky around my birds with Coastal Cabana ink and the new Blending Brushes. I added a little shine to the Coastal Cabana base using the White Frost Shimmer Paint and a sponge.

Just in case you need them here are the card/decor piece measurements:

• Coastal Cabana 5 x 7
• Calypso Coral 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and scored at 4 1/4
• Basic Black frame 5 1/8 x 4 1/4
• Basic White Cardstock  and Window Sheet 4 3/4 x 3 1/2

My second card was for my dear friend, Jenn for her birthday last week.  Jenn has been a cohort and downline for almost 10 years, but has been a friend and crafting buddy for much longer!  We have planned surprise parties for each other, have shared lots of laughter and yummy dinners along with a few glasses of wine over the years.  I had the honor of helping with and being a part of her wedding and the lives of her family and children.  She and her family even lived in our guest house for a short time when they moved back from Maine.  On and off over the years my team was just the two of us, so we spent lots of time together.We are very different, but our personalities help us work SO well together!

Jenn, (along with my other minion, Deb) is a driving force in keeping the Scrappy Stampers’ Getaway going. We were actually supposed to be setting up for this year’s Getaway on her birthday last week, but due to COVID we are all home, but

hoping it will be a go in April.  We had a little gathering to celebrate Jenn’s bday and just be together last Wednesday before Mystery Stamping and I wanted to give Jenn a card that was perfect for her positive and fun personality.

Did I mention that Jenn’s favorite color is blue?  So, from this my daisy suspension card was born.  I started with the Paper Blooms DSP from this year’s SAB brochure and paired it with the large card and envelope from the assorted Memories & More Cards & Envelopes.  I think the DSP looks so sweet with the daisy punched piece and the Organdy Polka Dot Ribbon. One of the fun things I love about this card is that I used the circle I die cut out of the front of the cardbase on the inside of the card.  I hated to waste it!
