NC Demos March 2026 Blog Hop – A Hippity, Hoppity Easter Card!

Hello and welcome to the March edition of the NC Demos Blog Hop! We are SO glad you are here! If you are starting here with me, please be sure to hop all the way around to see the great project I know my friend Laurie Meier has created. She always has something fabulous to share!

We all love the 2024-2026 In Colors and are so sad that they will be retiring soon, so we are going to celebrate them one more time before they go in our projects this month. The only rule for this month’s theme was that we choose our favorite In Color combo and create something fun to share! It could be anything! The only rule for this month is that you MUST make one of the 2024-2026 In Colors the main color in your project..

I had lots of ideas for this month, but finally settled on sharing this fun hippitty, hoppity Easter card I made for my Cute Cards Quick this month. I did share it on my Facebook page and had so many ask me to make a video that I thought this was the perfect time and place to share how easy this card is to create AND as a bonus it features Pretty in Pink which is not only my favorite 2024-2026 In Color, but one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! In Colors of all time!

You can find a full supply list for this card except for the Layering Ovals Dies I used which are retired at the bottom of this post. Here are the measurements for this card:

Pretty in Pink 8 1/2″ x 11″ and scored at 4 1/4″
Pecan Pie 4″ x 5 1/4″
Basic Black 4″ x 4″

NC Demos Just Bee Cause Blog Hop

Good evening and welcome to a special edition of the NC Demos Blog Hop. Frances Wagner organized a card swap using the Bee Mine Suite that will be out in the January to April Mini Catalog for the core group of us who participate in the monthly blog hop. We all thought it would be fun to share our project samples with you, too!

If you haven’t already done so, BEE SURE to hop all the way around and check out Kelly Taranto’s card. I know you will BEE glad you did!

My project is SUPER simple, so if you are short on time, but want a cute idea for Valentine’s or just a card to say hello, then this is the project for you!

Please note that this is not a Tracie original. I cased it from a cute card I saw on Pinterest.

Here are the measurements and details for making this card:

Daffodil Delight cardstock 8 1/2 x 11 and scored at 4 1/4
Basic White cardstock 3 x 3 and cut with the Deckled Circles Dies (you could use any circle punches or die you have)
Scraps of Daffodil Delight and Vellum cardstock for the bee and wings.
Bee Mine DSP 1 1/2 x 5 1/2
Black & White Gingham Ribbon 10 inches

I used Memento ink to stamp my bee and the Happy Valentine’s Day greeting and Crushed Curry stamp the honeycomb background on the cardbase.

I used Multipurpose Glue to attach the DSP, Dimensionals for the circle and bee and Tear & Tape to attach the ribbon. The hardest part of this card is deciding which piece of the adorable DSP to use!

I am all done, but I hope you will buzz on over with me see Jo Anne Hewin’s project. It is un-BEE-lievably cute!

In the Spotlight

The very first technique I shared with my Terrific Techies (back then they were my Hostess 10 Club) was the Spotlighting Technique. Nineteen years after first learning this technique I still love it. I love it even more when we have lovely Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper, DSP, like the Perfectly Penciled, that I can use instead of having to stamp multiple images. Yes, I will freely admit that I am a lazy stamper! LOL

Please note, I did case this card from a fellow demo on Pinterest, but feel I gave it my own personal touch with the Mesh Ribbon and using Watercolor Pencils.

This card is one that my guests could choose to make as an add-on kit at this year’s Scrappy Stampers’ Getaway. Some of my regulars to the Stamp Pad saw the sample and liked it so much we added it to Stamping is Therapy this month, too! Here are all the directions if you would like to recreate this card or others using your own favorite DSP.

Supplies:

Season of Chic stamp set
Balmy Blue & Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
Layering Circles Dies
Rectangle Postage Stamp & Circle Punches
Blender Pen
Small Blending Brush
Watercolor Pencils

Cardstock

Basic Black 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2
Perfectly Penciled DSP 4 x 5 1/2
Basic White scrap for the greeting
Basic Black 3 x 3 for layering
Metallic Mesh Ribbon 3 inches
Pearls Basic Gems

Choose a part of the image on the Perfectly Penciled DSP and use the Circle Punch or a Layering Circles Die to cut it out. Use Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen to color in the images in the circle. Watercolor Pencils, a Blender Pen, Balmy Blue ink and a Small Blending Brush were used here. Alternative coloring choices are Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers, and Blender Pens with Classic Ink Pads.
Stamp the greeting from Season of Chic onto a Basic White scrap and punch the ends with the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch. Set aside.
Layer the 4 x 5 1/2 inch piece of Perfectly Penciled DSP onto the Basic Black using Multipurpose Glue.
Layer the Basic Black scalloped circle over the place you punched earlier with Dimensionals.
Tuck a piece fo Metallic Mesh Ribbon under the Basic Black scallop and adhere with Tear & Tape.
Attach the colored circle onto the Basic Black scallop with Dimensionals.
Attach the greeting with Dimensionals. You may need to layer these for more height depending on where you place your greeting.
Finish the card by adding Pearls Basic Gems.

NC Demos February 2023 Blog Hop – We Are All In!

Welcome to our February blog hop! We are so glad you are here! If you didn’t already stop by to see Kelly Taranto post be sure to do so. She always makes something fantastic!

I have spent the month of February preparing Make & Take samples that that are part of the add on kits for my upcoming Scrappy Stampers’ Getaway in Carolina Beach at the end of this week. I new I wanted to use the Tropical Hideaway stamp set and when I saw a card that used it created by fellow demo, Diane Evans I knew I had to case it. It was a happy coincidence that I was able to use a new color combo using Evening Evergreen, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz on on of the projects, and while the card is very simple I love how it turned out. I think it would be a great card for almost anyone and could be great for lots of occasions just by changing up the greeting and you could jazz it up a bit by changing the twine to ribbon.

Here are the measurements you would like to recreate this card:

Pear Pizzazz cardstock 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2

Evening Evergreen cardstock 4 x 5 1/4

Old Olive cardstock 3 3/4 x 5

Basic White cardstock 3 1/2 x 4 3/4

Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack 12 inches.

Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots

Use a little washi tape to adhere the Basic White cardstock to the Stamparatus. This will make stamping your images a LOT easier!

Create a mask by placing a piece of scrap paper across the middle of the cardstock and secured it on each side with a little more washi tape.

Stamp the Tropical Hideaway stamp in Evening Evergreen.

Use blending brushes and Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and a little Evening Evergreen ink pads to color in the leaves. I used the new Small Blending Brushes and think they worked great for this project.

Next, remove the mask and stamp the greeting from Celebrate Sunflowers in Evening Evergreen.

Add the twine under the greeting and attach the layers of the card together using Dimensionals.

Add the Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots to finish off the card.

Come Sail Away with this Cute Card Quick!

My guests at this year’s Scrappy Stampers’ Getaway really enjoyed the the Cute Cards Quick Kits. I thought you might, too! I shared two of the other cards earlier this year on my NC Demos Blog Hop posts in January and March if you want to go take a peek. All five card designs had a beach, ocean or luau theme. Look for the other two samples coming out later this month! Here are all the details to make the Let’s Sail Away card:

Supplies:

Let’s Set Sail Bundle
Gentle Waves stamp set
Bark 3D Embossing Folder
Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch
Balmy Blue & Misty Moonlight ink pads

Cardstock:

Misty Moonlight 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 & score at 4 1/4
Basic White 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Balmy Blue, Cinnamon Cider, Crushed Curry & Real Red for punching the greeting and the sailboat
Metallic Mesh Ribbon 4 1/4

Punch out the sailboat from the Cinnamon Cider cardstock and the sails from Bumble Bee and Real Red carstock. Set aside your sails.
Use the Bark 3D Embossing Folder to texture the Misty Moonlight cardbase and the Cinnamon Cider sailboat. Set them aside.
Stamp your greeting onto the Balmy Blue cardstock in Misty Moonlight. Trim the top and bottom to have a straight edge. Set aside.
Ink the Gentle Waves stamp set with Balmy Blue & Misty Moonlight and stamp it onto the Basic White cardstock. A few hints; I used the Stamparatus for this to ensure I had good coverage. Also, when inking this stamp you want to drag the ink pad across the stamp to get even coverage with no lines. The sky is the more solid looking part of the stamp and is the Balmy Blue. The waves/water is in the Misty Moonlight.
Cut the Basic White in half so you have two pieces that are 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches. Attach to the Misty Moonlight cardbase with Dimesionals.
Use a little Tear & Tape to attach the Metallic Mesh Ribbon. I hide my adhesive behind the sailboat and the greeting. =-)
Attach the sailboat and your greeting using Mini and regular Dimensionals.

Now all I have to do is decide who I want to send it to!
