So, my project started with the Note Cards and Envelopes.  I had some leftover from a past event and thought they would make an excellent gift, as my rules for gift giving are that things MUST be useful, consumable (like food, candles, soaps, etc..or they must be very sentimental.  So, the note cards fit those parameters.  My next step was to figure out what I was going to use as a container for my note cards.  I remembered a project from years ago where we used a jar for this purpose and since I love to recycle items for my projects and have a ton of jars saved, this was the perfect solution!

This project is super basic and easy!  There really aren’t any set measurements and I didn’t even cut any cardstock since I was using the Note Cards and Envelopes.  All the the DSP on the Note Cards were leftover pieces from one of the cards from World Card Making Day.  I didn’t even measure the ribbon or twine.

Here are a few helpful hints for creating the storage jar:

• First, find a jar with a mouth large enough for the cards and envelopes to slid in easily.  You don’t want  to bend them.
• We don’t have a die large enough to cut a piece of cardstock to cover the lid, so I traced around the lid with a pencil, then fussy cut the Pretty Peacock cardstock.
• I used Tear & Tape to adhere the Copper Clay Ribbon and the Faux Suede piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock to the lid.
• I used Mini Dimensionals to attach the greeting onto the top of the lid first then use Multipurpose Glue to adhere the leaves.  I meant to add some embellishments as well, but got so excited that I forgot to do so before I took the picture.  I will probably go back and add something.

And that is it!  This really was a fun and easy project.  The hardest part is going to be giving it away as I really love how it turned out.  I may just have to make another one! =-)

#4 Hearts of Clover

• Heart Punch Pack

• Emboss 4 Parakeet Party Hearts with the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folder and attach to a 1 1/2 inch Circle. Then add a Garden Green shamrock to the back of the circle to create the stem.
• Score 4 Dandy Design DSP hearts in half and attach to the top of the Parakeet Party shamrock.

The card uses Linen Specialty Paper that is embossed and then colored using a Blending Brush and Direct to Paper.  The shamrocks are punched out from the chipboard found in our Dimensional packages and then I color Shimmery Embossing Paste to create the fun texture.

It’s Summer and time to be outside! So, this month we are using all the fantastic Stampin’ Up! products to celebrate the Great Outdoors!

Our project could be celebrate anything from the beach to the mountains, flowers to trees and ANYTHING in between! We just had to be sure to use stamp sets, punches, dies, etc..to create a project with an outdoor theme.

My Terrific Techies hostess club have been working on a cute calendar project this year and I decided I would share the September page we made this month..  It was inspired by a picture my friend, Cherilyn, shared with me during their recent visit to Raleigh.  Her family enjoyed a day at the Dor0thea Dix Park while the sunflowers were blooming.  It was just a bright and cheerful picture and I wanted to share that with my Techies group.

This was one of the more simple pages we have created and once you prep everything it goes together very quickly.

The measurements for this page are:

• Old Olive 3 3/4 x 5
• Basic Black 2 3/4 x 2 3/4
• Frayed Ribbon 4 inches
• Baker’s Twine 10 inches

I just used a scrap of Basic White to die cut out the sunflower and Preadolescent Specialty to cut the sprigs.

I started by cutting my cardstock, ribbon and twine.

I then embossed the Old Olive cardstock using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder.

Next, I die cut my sunflower and the sprigs.

I used template method to stamp the sunflower in Memento ink and then colored it using Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blends.

I attached the ribbon and baker’s twine to my sunflower using Tear & Tape.

Now it was time to put it all together! I decided where everything was going to go on my page and then attached the sprigs using Glue Dots.

Next, I attached my mini calendar to the Basic Black square using just a touch of Multipurpose Glue and then added this piece to the Old Olive base using Dimensionals.

Finally I attached my sunflower using Dimensionls.

Since Stampin’ Up! has SO many fantastic stamp sets, punches and more that feature bugs from cute little ladybugs to elegant dragonflies and more! So, this month’s theme is Cute as a Bug!  Our projects could be ANYTHING as long as there was something buggy/buggish about it!

Well, I just couldn’t decide on on set or bug, so I sharing a sampler I created as at the request of one of my customers.  She wanted something she could put out during the summer besides her 4th of July one.  I think this one definitly fits the bill.  I was a slow process as it uses products from three different SU catalogs, the 2022 January to June Mini, the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog AND you get a sneak peek at an amazing new bundle from the 2022 July to December Min.  I don’t think I have ever used products from this many cattys on a single project.

The basic measurements for this particular sampler are:

• Sweet Sorbet 12 x 12
• Parakeet Party 10 3/4 x 10 3/4
• 5 Basic Black squares for layering 3 1/4 x 3 1/4
• 3 pieces of Basic White 3 x 3
• 1 piece each of Tahitian Tide, Sweet Sorbet and Lovely Layers Vellum
• 2 Basic Black pieces for layering 3 1/4 x 6 3/4
• 1 piece each of Basic White, Daffodil Delight and Heart & Home DSP  3 x 6 1/2

You will also need the following for die cutting and punching

• 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper
• Perfectly Penciled DSP
• Basic Black
• Shimmery White
• Sweet Sorbet
• Tahitian Tide

The first butterfly square uses an emboss resist technique and the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set along with white Embossing PowderBlending Brushes, Daffodil Delight, Sweet Sorbet & Tahitian Tide ink.  I finished it off with the little hello tag and a few inches of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon.  This technique is SO easy.  Simply stamp your images in VersaMark, apply White Embossing Powder and heat emboss.  Use Blending Brushes, starting with your lightest to darkest color to apply the ink.  Don’t forget to gently wipe away excess ink from the embossed images with a facial tissue.

The second bumblebee square is super quick and easy!  I stamped the flowers from Daisy Garden in Parakeet Party then used a Blending Brush to add the Tahitian Tide.  I then created the bumblebee by punching out a piece of Perfectly Penciled DSP using the Ladybug Builder Punch and the wings out of Vellum cardstock.  I then used the dark Daffodil Delight Blends to color in the yellow stripes and a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the head and antennas.  The little flower are made from Sweet Sorbet Glimmer Paper and punched using the Bough Punch.  The square is assemble using Dimensionals.

The large dragonflies square goes together quickly as well.  I stamped the flowers from Dragonfly Garden onto the piece of Heart & Home DSP in Parakeet Party and then used Blending Brushes and Starry Sky and Tahitian Tide ink to add more color.  The dragonflies were stamped in Memento Black Ink and Tahitian Tide onto Shimmery White cardstock, then punched out with the Dragonfly Punch. I did add a little Wink of Stella to the wings and attached the dragonflies with Mini Dimensionals.  I finished it off some Red Rhinestones Basic Jewels.

The fourth square was inspired by a card made by a fellow NC Demo for the Annual Catty Swap by Mail that I hosted in May.  I love the layering created with the Dots & Spots Die.  This was a really basic piece to make.  I just stamped and punched!

The next square features the Splendid Thoughts Bundle that will be available next week in the July to December Mini.  I also used the Fern 3D Embossing Folder.  I did stamp and then color the little bee, but the rest of this square was die cut and then assembled with Mini Dimensionals and Glue Dots.  I think this is such a unique piece and am excited to create more projects with this very versatile bundle!

The second of my butterfly squares was created using the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks, Shimmery White Embossing Paste and Tahitian Tide and Sweet Sorbet Reinkers.

The final little dragonflies square was the most simple of all!  I just layered Lovely Layers Vellum onto the 3 x 3 Sweet Sorbet Square and punched the little dragonflies out of the Glimmer Paper. I attached the dragonflies with Mini Dimensionals and added a few of the Classic Matte Dots.

Normally, I would totally do a technique for this theme, but I recently acquired this cool tiered store bin during a shopping trip with my friend and delightful downline, Rachael.  I love that each of  us, my hubby, son and I can all have a place to put our keys, old people glass, extra phone cords, etc… These things always end up on my kitchen island or the wine bar, so it makes my heart happy to have all this stuff a little bit organized.  Then a few weeks later after a team meeting at one of our favorite spots, The Pickled Pub, another of my friends and delightful downline, Tina, stopped in at the dollar store for a quick look around.  We found these little wooden trays and I immediately thought they would be a perfect way for friends and family staying in our guesthouse to keep track of things.  This idea was also inspired by a May holiday to Aruba with my friend and delightful downline, Allison.  We both needed something to keep little things like hair hands, jewelry, etc… organized and since there was nothing in our rooms we raided the kitchen for bowls and trays. And so the idea for this month’s project was born.

Before I give you the details for this project I want to share a little something in case you missed it, I love my team.  They are my friends and since my family live in Oklahoma they are in many ways my family and support network here in North Carolina.  We do stamp and craft together, but we also have dinner, celebrate holidays and birthdays and just hang out.  I can’t imagine my life without them.  Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator changed my life.  I have met the most amazing people who I would have never even crossed paths with otherwise.  If you have ever thought about becoming a part of the Stampin’ Up! family I would love to share more about joining and my team, the Stamp Pad Society.

• First I painted the tray with a layer of white acrylic craft paint using a foam brush.  After it dried I added another layer of paint that I had colored with Smoky Slate Reinker.  I then let it dry overnight.
• So the next day I  cut a piece of the In Good Taste DSP 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 and applied a coat of Mod Podge to the bottom of the tray then layered in the DSP.  I then applied several layers Mod Podge to the top of the DSP.  While this was drying I die cut my letters using Real Red cardstock  and the Playful Alphabet Dies.
• I then applied Mod Podge to the back of letters and attached them to the DSP.
• Finally, I applied a three more coats of Mod Podge over the letters and DSP and let it dry.
