Hello and welcome to our NC Demo February Blog Hop! We are SO glad you are here! If you are just starting here don’t forget to hop all the way around to see what Frances Wagner as made. She always shares something fabulous!
Our February theme is, Sketch It Out!
Our challenge was to use a sketch from page 22 of the Annual Catalog or from page 12 of the January to April Mini Catalog to create a card or tag!
This is a great way to start a project. The think to remember is to not feel like what you create has be to be exactly like the sketch. The shapes are just for placement ideas. So, circles can be squares or flowers or in the case of my card a large butterfly for the top circle and a tag with a small butterfly for the bottom right circle!
This really is a very straight forward card. Here are my basic measurements:
- Petunia Pop 4 1/2″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″ and scraps for the butterflies
- Fruit Salad 6″ x 6″ DSP 3 3/4″ x 5″ This is a Sale-A-Bration product. Contact me find out how to get it for FREE!
- Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″ and a scrap
- Old Olive scrap for the tag
- Basic Black and Daffodil Delight scraps for the butterflies
- Petunia Pop 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon 4 inches
This card goes together very quickly. Do all your die cutting and emboss with the Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing folder.
I attached the butterflies together with Glue dots.
Stamp the greeting from the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle.
Attach the layers of the card together with Multipurpose Glue and attach the ribbon with Tear & Tape.
Attach the Old Olive tag with Multipurpose Glue and then add the butterflies and the sentiment with Dimensionals.
Finish off the card with the 2024-2026 In Color Resin Dots.

Thank you, Frances!
Great card, Tracie! And the fact that we both chose the same sketch is just too funny 🙂 This card just screams Spring to me, from the butterflies to the colors you used. And lets face it, I think we are ALL ready for Spring!!
Thank you, Toni! I think it’s awesome that we used the same sketch! Great minds…LOL. Yes, I am definitely ready for Spring!
What a pretty card and love the colors you used.
Thank you, Tina!
