I just love the soft Petal Pink and the bold contrast of the Basic Black and Mossy Meadow in the Magnolia Lane DSP. While I am not a bird person, they scare me a little bit, probably too many viewings of a certain Alfred Hitchcock movie, I do love the colors and sweet little birds in this Bird Ballad DSP.

This post is still a work in progress.  I will add the product list in just a bit.  Right now I have to deal with a spoiled kitty who thinks getting snuggles is more important that blog posts.

Sadie did help me take my photos earlier today, so I thought you might enjoy getting to see how big she is getting!  Also, she put her mark on my scrapbook page with a little paw print by accident.  We brushed it off and think it is just fine!

I am sharing the projects I made this Fall using the Snow Front stamp set.  This is by far my favorite stamp set of the season.  I did case the card from another demo, then loved it so much I had to use it for my seasonal mini easel and for a scrapbook page.

To get the pretty background for all three projects brayer in Pretty Peacock.  Don’t worry about making it even.  That is what makes the nice winter sky effect.

Next, use Stampin’ Write Markers or your Old Olive and Pretty Peacock Ink Pads to stamp the trees and hills.  Then just stamp your bare trees in Memento and finish it off with your little birds in either Cherry Cobbler or Real Red.  I have used both for these projects and they look great!

I did add a few additional details on the scrapbook page by stamping the snow with White Craft ink onto Blueberry Bushel cardstock.

All three projects were very fun and simple.  Great for a beginner, but my advanced stampers loved them because it was all about inks, stamps and paper!

So one of my favorite things is Halloween.  I love everything about it; decorating, getting dressed up, parties and trick or treating.  It’s ALL fun!  I also love making samplers because I can use so many different stamp sets, products and accessories.  While I have made a Halloween shadow box in the past this is the first time I have made a full sampler.  It was so much fun since I got to use so many fabulous products from both of the current catalogs.

First, almost all the squares were stamped with the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad.  This is definitely a must have for an everyday black ink pad.  It works great with the Blends, like on the first square with the raven, but it is equally great on the squares with the cards, bats, spider webs and for the jack-o-lantern in the last square.

So, my second favorite thing right now is the Mercury Glass Specialty Paper.  I love how it works behind the Wicked die (it is Rich Razzleberry cardstock inked with VersaMark and embossed with the Black Glimmer Embossing Powder).  This paper is so unique and I have some great ideas for using it for my Countless Christmas Card Buffets coming up in November and December.

I know it has been around for a while, but I am still a huge fan of the Embossing Paste and decorative masks. It was really fun using the brick wall mask along with the paste and Smoky Slate Reinker with the spiders and webs from the Wonderfully Wicked stamp set to make the fifth square.

The final product that I think is this year’s must have it the Harvest Hellos Bundle that I used for the first square..  I love that it makes pumpkins, jack-0-lanterns and apples.  It is a stamp set and punch that you can use year round for LOTS of different projects.

Did I mention that while Allison is a very talented and experienced painter and crafter, she had NEVER stamped until last week!  But like me and SO many of you she was totally sucked in by the Wickedly Wonderful Bundle and The Raven stamp set in this year’s Holiday Catalog.  Allison did a great job for her first time out doing everything from fussy cutting to embossing and she is a really pro with the Stamparatus and the punches!  We made two of each ornament, one for her and one for me working together on them as we went.  I can’t decide if the Raven or the bat on the full moon with the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate is my favorite.  I just think they are all so much fun.

Happy Fall Y’all and welcome to the NC Demos September Blog Hop!  If you are already hopping along with us tonight I know you saw something fantastic on Jo Anne Hewins’ page.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop, too!

Our days may still be a bit warm, it is 90 degrees today, but they are getting shorter and the mornings and evenings are a little cooler. The kids are back to school, so, it must be time to celebrate Fall in the South!

So, how does one celebrate a season that is all about sweaters, cute new boots, warm drinks, baked goods and hearty food when it’s still hot enough to swim in the pool and the summer flowers are still blooming?  Well, it’s simple!  We visit our local markets, (I love Shepard’s Way Farms here in Raleigh) for mums, pumpkins and more then use them to decorate inside and out We start burning candles that smell like pumpkin pie and cinnamon and drink our apple cider chilled.  We wear lightweight clothes in Fall colors and some Southern girls (I am not one of them) add pumpkin to everything they eat and drink.

So, what does this mean as a stamper?  Well, it means my customers, downline and my fellow demos at our NC Demos Quarterly Meeting this past weekend are all about making Fall decor and of course cards!   The two cards I want to share with you were big hits with my customers at Cute Cards Quick and Coffee & Cards this month as well as for my shoebox swaps at the Quarterly Meeting.

I have to say I can’t pick which of these cards I like better.  I think the Beauty & Joy card is so elegant and you could give it for almost any occasion.  Here are the measurements for this pretty topiary card:

• Terracotta Tile cardbase 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2
• Crumb Cake 4 x 5 1/4
• Mossy Meadow 4 1/4 x 3
• Very Vanilla cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies
• Terracotta Ribbon 1 piece 4 1/2 inches, 1 piece 3 inches
• Nature’s Twine 4 inches

This really is a pretty simple card to make.  Cut all your cardstock including die cutting your Vanilla stitched rectangle and emboss the Crumb Cake layer.  I used Soft Suede ink and direct to paper for a little more depth on the Crumb Cake cardstock.  Stamp your topiary and then it’s time to assemble.  Attach the Mossy Meadow cardstock to the Crumb Cake cardstock then attach your 4 1/2 inch piece of ribbon to the layers.  Tie the 3 inch piece of ribbon to your card with the Nature’s Twine.  Add your topiary using Stampin’ Dimensionals and you are ready to go!

My second card uses the Harvest Hellos stamp set which I think is adorable!  here are all the measurement in case you need them:

• Crumb Cake cardbase 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4 and 2 x 5
• Pumpkin Pie 4 x 5 1/4
• Whisper White 3 3/4 x 5
• You will need scraps of Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie for the Pumpkin and the tag with the greeting.

Like the Beauty & Joy card this one goes together quickly if you first cut all your cardstock and emboss the Crumb Cake piece of cardstock.  After that use the Stamparatus to stamp the Buffalo Check stamp onto Whisper White using Garden Green ink.  I like to use a piece of washi tape rolled up under my cardstock to hold it in place while stamping background stamps.  Use a magnet to hold your grid paper in place.  Then stamp and punch out the pieces for your pumpkin and your greeting tag.  Now assemble your card.  I used Multipurpose glue for everything except the pumpkin, I used Dimensionals and for the Copper Trim which I attached with Tear & Tape.

Note, if you haven’t used the Copper Trim before, be sure to not cut it until you have shaped it the way you want and made sure it is long enough to go across your card.

Why did we pick this theme for August?  Well, we are all just so busy and now it is time to start heading back to school and before you know it the holiday will be upon us, so we all should take a minute to enjoy life and the beauty around us.  For me personally it has been a very busy summer, with lots of family and friends visiting, working and then hosting a wedding at our house yesterday afternoon and into evening.

My friend Rachael, also our wedding photographer, actually snapped this pic of me working to get the links for this blog hop out to the rest of this month’s hoppers at 11:15pm or so last night.  So, I think after working to entertain 60 or so people at my house and working so late I definitely need to stop and smell the flowers and enjoy a little glass of bubbly while I am at it!

So, now you know why I need to take some time out to enjoy life and at the same time find some inspiration in the flowers around me I want to share a few pictures of the hibiscus that I have on my back deck this summer.  It may be one of my favorite plants ever!  My dear hubby, Jay, bought it for me back in April and I have enjoyed seeing what colors and how many blooms I have each day.  Some days it has been none, but most days it has been at least one or two and then there have been days like in the photos I am sharing here where there have been five or more blooms and they have been multiple colors!

So, I sat down and started to think about how I could create my own hibiscus for a card.  I wasn’t sure where to start and then we got to see the 2019 Holiday Catalog and there it was!  An amazing stamp set to create flower pots and topiaries called Beauty & Joy!  I was so excited, and naturally, had to put it on my preorder!  Getting to order products early is DEFINITELY a perk of being a demo, just in case you need a reason to purchase your own Starter Kit!  If you have been thinking about getting your Starter Kit and becoming a part of the Stampin’ Up! family this is a fabulous time to do it!  The Extra, Extra promotion runs through August 31st.  If you have questions about the Starter Kit or being a demo I would love to talk to you!  Contact me!

Okay, sorry!  I get excited about being a demo and want to share the fun with everyone, sometimes!

So, first I cut a 2 x 5 1/4 piece of Crumb Cake and punched the top with the Delightful Tag Topper.  Then I used my Stamparatus to stamp the basket from Beauty & Joy in Terracotta Tile, then sued a sticky note to mask it and stamped my topiary trunk using the branch from Colorful Seasons in Early Espresso.  Next I stamped the leaves from Beauty & Joy in Garden Green.  Note, when making this card again I will cut the circle first and then stamp my leaves.  I then cut out my flowers using the Seasonal Layers dies and punch the circles to go behind them with the 1/2 inch Circle punch. The flowers and circles are put together with Multipurpose glue and then have Mini Dimensionals on the back to attach them to the topiary. My circle of leaves are attached to the tag with Dimensionals.

Okay, so somewhere in the process of stamping and cutting, I decided to use Embossing Paste and the lattice from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks to create my background.  I would suggest doing this step first, so it will be dry while you are creating the other elements for your card.

Once my tag was all done and the Embossing Paste was dry on my Garden Green cardstock I started playing with the greeting and came up with turning the Tailored Tag Punch.  I have to tell you that I haven’t used this punch like this before, but I really like it on this card!

So, my final steps were to adhere all my pieces to my card base.  I used the Multipurpose Glue to attach the Garden Green piece, and both tags.
