NC Demos April 2022 Blog Hop – Spring Occasions

Good evening and welcome to the April edition of the NC Demos Blog Hop. If you stopped by Kelly Taranto’s blog you know that our April theme is Spring Special Occasions.
Our projects could be something to give for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation, a baby shower, a wedding shower or any other spring holiday or occasion! Since we will actually be at the wedding of a dear friend’s daughter when this post goes live I decided to share the wedding card I created for her. The original idea for this card was part of one of my Mystery Stamping Parties last summer and I still love everything about this fancy fold card.

This fancy fold gift card holder is not my original idea. I saw something similar on a fellow demos post and tweaked it a bit to make it mine. =-)

Here are the measurements if you would like to create this or a similar card:

Merry Merlot for card base and center panel with gift card holder:

5 1/2 x 4 1/4
11 x 4 ¼. You will score the 11 x 4 ¼ inch piece at 3 ¼, 6 ¼ and 9 5/8

Basic White, for the inside panel 3 x 4

One piece each of the following Designer Series Paper (DSP)

3 3/4 x 1 1/2
3 x 4
4 x 1/4
5 1/4 x 4

Scraps of Basic White, Merry Merlot, Smoky Slate and Vellum cardstock for stamping, punching or die cutting the greeting tags and sprigs.

Metallic Mesh Ribbon: 4 inches

Black twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack 12 inches

Do all of your cutting, stamping, punching and die cutting first. The this card goes together in a snap! Just start at the base and work up! I used Multipurpose Glue to attach all my DSP, Dimensionals for the tags and focal points and Tear & Tape to create the gift card holder pocket.

I used my Merry Merlot and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Markers to color the flower on the inside panel.

Two More Card Kits To Go!

As promised I am still working on more fun ways to use all the amazing DSP from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. Here are two more cards that use the Pattern Party DSP along with the Gilded Leafing that I love! These cards look fancy, but go together in a snap!

You may order as many card kits as you like for just $2 per kit! Kits will include all the supplies (except adhesive) ready to go to create one card. This price does not include postage if I am mailing the kits to you.

Come Sail Away with this Cute Card Quick!

My guests at this year’s Scrappy Stampers’ Getaway really enjoyed the the Cute Cards Quick Kits. I thought you might, too! I shared two of the other cards earlier this year on my NC Demos Blog Hop posts in January and March if you want to go take a peek. All five card designs had a beach, ocean or luau theme. Look for the other two samples coming out later this month! Here are all the details to make the Let’s Sail Away card:

Supplies:

Let’s Set Sail Bundle
Gentle Waves stamp set
Bark 3D Embossing Folder
Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch
Balmy Blue & Misty Moonlight ink pads

Cardstock:

Misty Moonlight 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 & score at 4 1/4
Basic White 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Balmy Blue, Cinnamon Cider, Crushed Curry & Real Red for punching the greeting and the sailboat
Metallic Mesh Ribbon 4 1/4

Punch out the sailboat from the Cinnamon Cider cardstock and the sails from Bumble Bee and Real Red carstock. Set aside your sails.
Use the Bark 3D Embossing Folder to texture the Misty Moonlight cardbase and the Cinnamon Cider sailboat. Set them aside.
Stamp your greeting onto the Balmy Blue cardstock in Misty Moonlight. Trim the top and bottom to have a straight edge. Set aside.
Ink the Gentle Waves stamp set with Balmy Blue & Misty Moonlight and stamp it onto the Basic White cardstock. A few hints; I used the Stamparatus for this to ensure I had good coverage. Also, when inking this stamp you want to drag the ink pad across the stamp to get even coverage with no lines. The sky is the more solid looking part of the stamp and is the Balmy Blue. The waves/water is in the Misty Moonlight.
Cut the Basic White in half so you have two pieces that are 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches. Attach to the Misty Moonlight cardbase with Dimesionals.
Use a little Tear & Tape to attach the Metallic Mesh Ribbon. I hide my adhesive behind the sailboat and the greeting. =-)
Attach the sailboat and your greeting using Mini and regular Dimensionals.

Now all I have to do is decide who I want to send it to!

NC Demos March 2022 Blog Hop — It’s a Challenge!

Welcome to the March edition of our NC Demos Blog Hop! We are SO glad you are here! If you haven’t already stopped by to see Frances Wagner’s blog make sure you do. She always creates something amazing!

We had SO much fun using the Challenge Dice for our December Blog Hop that we decided to try it again!

Our project was to include the following:

Theme: Friendship
Style: Clean & Simple – no more than 2 layers! We did not have to count our cardbase as a layer.
Color Scheme: In Colors (Any that are current) We could use other colors to as accents, but had to concentrate on the In Colors.
Techniques: Sponging
Accent/Embellishment: Ribbon or Twine

So, I am going to be honest. I tried to adhere to all of the rules, but this weekend is my sixth annual Scrappy Stampers’ Getaway in Carolina Beach. While I was preparing the Make & Takes I made a card I loved and thought would be perfect for this blog hop then realized that I forgot to include the ribbon or twine and it is just too late to fix it. So, please forgive me and pretend that it has some twine twisted behind the greeting tag. =-)

So, with that all said, here are the supplies, measurements and directions for this card:

Supplies:

Seascape stamp set
Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch
Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede ink

Cardstock

Magenta Madness 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 & scored at 4 1/4
Pool Party 4 x 5 1/4
Basic White for the greeting
3 Apoxy Essentials Embellishments
White Tissue Paper

Want to keep your crafting area neat and not sticky? Use your Silicone Craft Mat when using the Multipurpose Glue and attaching the tissue paper.

Tear or cut the tissue paper into roughly a 5 x 6 piece. You want enough to wrap around the back of the cardstock.
Randomly stamp the tissue paper in the following order: the coral in Magenta Madness, the seaweed in Just Jade, big fish in Crushed Curry, the little fish in Pumpkin Pie, the bubbles in Bermuda Bay and the sand in Soft Suede.
Crumple up the tissue paper. Spread it back out and do a little Direct to Paper with the Pool Party ink pad You want to do this gently, just hitting the raised areas created by crumpling your paper.
Decide where you want to place the tissue paper on the Pool Party cardstock. Remember to leave a little to wrap around the back.
Remove the tissue paper and thinly spread Multipurpose Glue onto the Pool Party cardstock. Hint, use the bottom applicator on the bottle.
Attach the tissue paper to the Pool Party cardstock. Remember that the wrinkles are what make this technique so cool. So, don’t smooth them all out. =-) Once the glue dries a little go back and adhere the edges of the tissue to the back of the cardstock.
Stamp the greeting with Magenta Madness ink onto Basic White cardstock and punch out using the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch.
Attach the Faux Silk seascape to the Magenta Madness cardbase with Dimensionals.
Attach the greeting tag to the Faux Silk seascape using Dimensionals.
Finish the card by adding three Apoxy Essentials Embellishments.

NC Demos January 2022 Blog Hop – Let’s Sale-A-Brate

Good evening and welcome to our monthly Blog Hop! Did you get a chance to stop by and see Amanda Howard’s awesome project? If not don’t forget to go back and check it out!

So, it’s January which means it is time to Sale-A-Brate! Our projects for this month could be ANYTHING! The only rule is that we had to feature a SAB product. Of course, I absolutely had to use the Island Vibes stamp set as I have a bit of an obsession with pineapples and I think the greetings from the Special Moments stamp set are perfect for almost every card! While I had planned which products to use in advance I hadn’t really thought about anything else until yesterday. The only problem was that my whole team were over for a play date, we had stuff everywhere and I was a little distracted. Then suddenly I had a fantastic idea! My fabulous downline, Allison, had helped me design a fabulous Make & Take for my Mini Catty Kick-Off party earlier in the month and I had one kit left! I could totally use those supplies. So, once I had my supplies ready to go it only took about fifteen minutes to make my card and part of the reason for that was that I stamped the wrong greeting the first time and didn’t like the greeting on the Crumb Cake tag, so I had to die cut an new tag.

Here are the dimensions in case you would like to recreate or case this card:

Crumb Cake 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4
Old Olive 5 x 3 3/4
Heart & Home DSP 5 1/4 x 1 1/2
Basic White 3 3/8 x 2 1/4
Denim Ribbon 2 1/2 inches
Twine 8 inches

The first thing I did was to stamp the palm fronds in Old Olive on the Old Olive cardstock then emboss it using the Gingham Embossing Folder. I also stamped my greeting using Old Olive and I will admit I did use my Stamparatus for this. I think greetings are tricky to stamp and I wanted to make it perfect! I trimmed the edge of my tag and then added the ribbon and twine.

Now it was time to create my favorite part of the card, the pineapple! I used Old Olive and Crushed Curry markers to apply ink onto the pineapple stamp then stamped it onto Basic White cardstock. I then filled in the white space around the pineapple using a Light Balmy Blue Blends. I really love the texture that this gave to the image.

With all my stamping done all that I needed to do was assemble my card which I did using Stampin’ Dimensionals and a little Multipurpose Glue.

NC Demo December 2022 Blog Hop – It’s A Challenge!

Welcome to our December 2021 NC Demos Blog Hop! We are so glad you are here? If you didn’t get a chance to stop by and see Amanda Howard’s post be sure to do it! You will be glad you did.

Christmas is over and the New Year is nearly here. It is time to start thinking about birthdays, thank you’s and all the other cards we send throughout the year. This month’s theme was a challenge to make a project inspired by the fun game created by our fellow NC Demo Tamra Davis! If you love this idea you can order your own set of Challenge Dice on her Etsy Page.

Our project was to include the following:
Theme: Birthday
Color Scheme: Brights
Techniques: Texture and Layers (at least 3 layers)
Accent/Embellishment: DSP, Foil or other Specialty Paper.

This really was a pretty straight forward project. I wouldn’t say easy and probably not for a beginner, but definitely doable and easy to duplicate in multiples.

So, after deciding on my colors, I love the Brights and Poppy Parade & Granny Apple Green top my list, I had to figure out what products to use. I am SUPER excited about the 2022 January to June Mini Catalog that will go live on January 4th, but I wanted to use products that you and my customers might already have or can order today! So, I chose the Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments stamp sets along with the Poppy Moments Dies. I did all my stamping and die cutting first. This is new as I usually cut my card base and first. Anyway, I also stamped my Happy Birthday and then used the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch to punch it out. All of my stamping was don with the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad and I used scraps of Poppy Parade for the flowers and greeting. I used scraps of Vellum Cardstock for the leaves just to give the ard more texture.

Next, I did cut my layers. They measure as follows:

Poppy Parade 4 1/2 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2
Basic Black 4 x 5 1/4
Pattern Party DSP 3 3/4 x 5
Black & White Gingham Ribbon 12 inches.

I used a Blending Brush along with Granny Apple Green ink to color the black and white Pattern Party DSP then embossed it using the Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder.

After I had all my pieces stamped and cut it was time to assemble my card. I attached the Vellum leave to the DSP using Glue Dots then added my Poppies with Black Dimensionals. I attached my greeting using Multipurpose Glue. Test I tied my ribbon and then add the two layers to my Poppy Parade cardbase. I finished off the fun challenge project by adding Wink of Stella to my poppies. Now I just need to decide who is going to get this cheerful birthday card. I suspect it will be a member of my amazing team, the Stamp Pad Society! But don’t tell them! =-)

NC Demos November 2021 Blog Hop – Holiday Stamp Sets Aren’t Just for Holidays Anymore!

Good evening and welcome to the NC Demos November Blog Hop. We are so glad that you took the time to join us! Did you get a chance to stop by Sue Root’s blog? If not be sure to hop all the way around as I know she shared something great!

Since we are nearing the end of our Stampin’ Up! July to December Mini Catty, this month our group is giving it one last moment in the spotlight. Our challenge was to choose a stamp set or bundle from the mini catty, it can be ANY holiday. The twist is that we could not make a project specific to that holiday. So an example might be to use a Christmas set to create a birthday card. Maybe one of lovely Fall sets would make a fantastic wedding card.

I love the idea that you can use a stamp set year round. It is a big part of how I decide which sets to purchase. The Thinking Thanks & Peace stamp set is one of my favorites in a long time. It is so versatile and I love the fonts. The card I am sharing is one I created for my Terrific Techies hostess club in November. I love that it is bright and cheerful and uses some of my favorite items from both the mini and annual catalogs.

The secret to this card is that the shiny white layer is actually the backing from a piece of our Linen Specialty Paper which is self adhesive. After embossing the Linen Paper and peeling away this backing I couldn’t bear to throw it away as it was so pretty, so it became the start of my card. I also love the Gingham Ribbon and of course the Mesh Ribbon is an all time favorite! Here are the dimensions if you would like to create this card yourself:

Polished Pink 4 1/2 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. Also a scrap to die cut with the Rectangle Stitched Dies.
Linen Specialty Paper 4 x 5 1/4. Use the Linen on another project!
Gingham Ribbon 8 inches
Mesh Ribbon 3 inches

I used Memento Black Ink to stamp the greeting and finished off the project with two Rhinestones because every project needs a little sparkle!

More Countless Christmas Cards!
