NC Demos July 2026 Blog Hop – It’s A Challenge!

Hello and welcome to our July 2026 edition of the NC Demos Blog Hop! We are SO glad you are here! If you are starting with my post be sure to hop all the way around. You don’t want to miss what my friend, Frances Wagner is sharing. She always make something fantastic!

This month we have a crafty challenge for our blog hop theme. Here are all the details and rules we were to follow:

We could create ANY kind of project.

The challenging part is that we MUST include the following:

Punches
Paper Piecing
DSP, Foil, Specialty Paper, etc…
Your color palette should include colors from the Regals collection
Your project theme should be Congratulations

So, I need to admit one thing before I share my project. I am not sure that I met the true definition of Paper Piecing, but I think I nailed the rest of the challenge and I really like the simplicity of this card and how easy it was to make.

I started with what might be my favorite bundle from the May to August Catalog, the All Aflutter Bundle. I just love these butterflies and how easy it is to line up the stamps with the punch. It makes such bright and cheerful cards!

After choosing the All Aflutter Bundle I worked on meeting the challenge requirements.

First, I needed a Congratulations stamp since thee wasn’t anything appropriate in the All Aflutter set. This was an easy choice as the Sending Salutations stamp set was already on my workspace.

After choosing the stamp sets and punch I next worked on finding DSP to go along with it, but also met the Regals color requirement. I decided on the Nature Walk DSP piece with the swirly Blueberry Bushel pattern. I have used this DSP for a variety of projects over the last few months and love all the patterns in the package. They are so versatile!

The DSP set the stage for finalized my Regals color palette of Blueberry Bushel, Crushed Curry and just a touch of Old Olive provided by the Dewdrops Embellishments.

I used the punch from the All Aflutter Bundle stamping the butterflies onto Crushed Curry Two-Tone Cardstock to have two shades of yellow for my butterflies.

Okay, so back to that Paper Piecing things…I am going to claim that the connected butterflies meet that requirement. That’s my story and I am sticking to it! LOL

So, here are few more details about this card:

All the butterflies and sentiment are stamped in Blueberry Bushel.
Stamp from right to left when using this bundle. It makes punching out the butterflies SO much easier!
The butterflies are randomly attached with a combination of Multipurpose Glue and Dimensionals.
I did attach the butterflies to the DSP prior to adding it to the cardbase just in case the butterflies needed to be trimmed to not go over the edges of the card.

Finally, here are the measurements for this card:

Blueberry Bushel 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″
Crushed Curry 4″ x 5 1/4″
Crushed Curry Two-Tone Cardstock 2 1/2″ x 12
Basic White scrap
Nature Walk DSP 3 3/4″ x 5″
