Welcome to the August edition of the NC Demos Blog Hop.  If you stopped by to see Laurie Meier’s terrific project you already know that this month’s theme is “Scenic View!” We have SOO many wonderful stamp sets, some with matching dies, in both the Annual and Mini Cattys and it’s time to show them off!  Since our project could be anything I decided to share a sampler piece that I am making for our beach themed guest house.
This project started with my friend, Laura, moved to the beach and left a big box of picture frames for me.  Since I didn’t want to spend a lot on new art and our theme was about scenic views it seemed like the perfect time to get started on this project.
You know that I love to share what inspires my projects as I always want to hear what inspires others.  So, I thought I would share a few of my favorite ocean and beach views from our travels around the world.  Jay will tell you that while I love to look at the water, I am not one who really enjoys getting wet.  I love to sit on a beach, a hotel balcony or a sailboat and watch the waves and enjoy the beauty that God has created.  I also think that I look much better dry and am also less likely to spill my drink. LOL
I did have to share a pic of Sadie even if I couldn’t find a way to sneak her into this particular project. =-)
Here is a full view of my project
I took one closeup without the frame, so you can see a bit more detail as well.
I love that this project is just stamps, ink and paper!  I did use masking techniques, along with daubers and clear blocks to create some of the water, sky and the large suns.  I also used the new Stampin’ Cutting & Embossing Machine to cut out the palm trees, lighthouse and sailboat. Otherwise, it is all just basic stamping.
I am including the list of stamps, ink and blends I used below, but if you have a question about a particular square please let me know.  I would love to help you!
I hope you will join me and hop on over to see what Amy Kinler is sharing this month.  She is so talented and always has something great to share!
Happy Stamping!

This is fantastic. I have a scrapbox that I make inchies for every season in. I love this, summer and the water. I am like you I don’t like to get wet and I don’t really like the heat, but I love to sit on the water and watch it. Since we moved here we have been doing waterfalls and walking along the local creeks.

WOW Tracy, I love this project. I, too, love the beach and this frame shows so many lovely beachy moments. Your real pictures are lovely, too – and I agree about not wanting to spill my drink. LOL

Tracie – Your travel pictures are stunning! I love the water as well and am perfectly content to sit beach or pool side, enjoying a drink and just relaxing. Your project, as usual, is beautiful. I’m always inspired by your samplers. The frame is just perfect for your project. Thanks so much for sharing!
